I just wanted to start bridging the gap to fish societies alot of members Canada wide. They may be helpful in the future laws and such. So here is the link to the Saskatoon Aquarium Society website a great place for anything wet from fish to that perfect plant for your newts new playground. www.saskatoonaquarium.com Thanks Barry

Good idea...
Just so that SAS people don't get mad, if you go to the forum that is linked to on the site Barry provided, make sure you don't call it the Saskatoon Aquarium Society Forum...apparently the forum is separate from the Society - There was just a big sh*t storm about that a while ago, and apparently it is an issue fairly regularily
I lurk a bit on that forum, but I'm not a member of the club...But it wouldn't hurt for the two clubs to work together if we can!

There was just a big sh*t storm about that a while ago, and apparently it is an issue fairly regularily Probably dredging this thread up from the abyss somewhat but, as moderator of the site and the owner of the forum, I thought I ought to explain that. The long and short of it is; A member of our club was removed from the forum for general asshattery. He attempted to use his membership in the club as a tool to regain access privileges. To be more precise, he threatened and then attempted to sue the club to force them to return him. As such the executive decided it was better to distance themselves and drop the formal association with the forum. I believe the "shit-storm" you mention was a thread in which I tried to clarify the position of the site. The aggressor in that thread happened to be the aforementioned individual under a pseudonym trying to stir up trouble. Anyhow, the original lawsuit was tossed out, as the SAS is a non-entity in a legal sense. At the moment he’s suing me personally for $2000 in damages for some theoretical “lost sales”. First court date is March 22nd.

Thanks for clarifying that situation - I was wondering what the whole story was, but didn't really think it was appropriate to ask...Sounds like fun... I wasn't trying to trash the forum or the club in any way - I was just trying to give everyone a heads up in case they inadvertently stir up the hornet's nest again... Kaley
