Cool...
I wonder how the scientists are making sure that they aren't going to introduce the fungus while they observe this population?...It'd be a real shame for them to be infected by spores carried in on the boots of the people trying to save them...

These populations sure look to be at risk, but the average biologist that I know is a freak when it comes to overthinking things like this (too much office time I guess). I'm sure they're keeping the exact locations hidden, and spraying in and out ect. It sure would be a good idea to take a small percentage of any egg masses to secure a captive population.
