HI GUYS, MY BROTHER HAS A 3 YEAR OLD MALE BEARDIE WHO HAS ALWAYS BEEN GREAT. HOWEVER, HE HAS RECENTLY STARTED BECOMING AGGRESSIVE TOWARD MY BROTHER! HE ONLY HAS THE ONE BEARDIE AND TREATS HIM VERY WELL. WHY WOULD THIS BE HAPPENING AND HOW CAN HE FIX IT?!!

I'm not sure why he would just become aggressive. I have known a few people who have had aggressive beardies and that's the way they stayed. When I had bearded dragons they were all quite tame so I have no experience with aggressive ones. Maybe he is just being territorial? Does he act aggressive when he is not in his cage?

It could be a number of things. How old is he? Sometimes when male beardies mature they get a little moody. It is starting to warm up which means he could also be feeling a little wound up coming out of cooling (sometimes they will cool on their own). He could also be feeling some tension if he is mature with it being that time of season and no females around. have him make sure that his basking temp is right and his UV bulbs are not too old. If these things are correct and he is given the proper diet and supplements there isn`t too much to be worried about. We all have the right to be a little moody from time to time with out having to explain ourselves...

Thanx guys! he is a few years old and just suddenly started having an attitude problem. I let my brother know what you said so he is going to make sure his bulbs are fresh and go from there

I am new to the bearded dragons as well, but have noticed that when they are in their shed mode within those few days they tend to be more moody especially my male...I have both a male and a female and the female is more docile and tolerant but I do definitely notice the male really gets cranked when he is in shed...and is all "mouthy" lots of nipping as well...which I know when not in shed he is really good. Seems to me, to be around the shed ... Attachments:
