Thought I should start a new thread for discussion of a HISS booth(s) Pet Expo 2007...so we don't have to wade through that other tread, and people I've directed here from other groups can find it easily...
Here's the pertinent info so far...
VOLUNTEERS??? We'll need people to man the booth all three days, as well as banners, brochures, business cards, etc.

Sorry that I cannot give a firm committment at this time. Currently that weekend is open for me but I am not sure when the Winnipeg show is going to be held and that would take precidence for us. The most I could do would be 2 days and it is weather dependent - an early winter storm would keep us home - but that isn't too likely for mid October.
Three days is a lot of time and work - any idea what the hours of the show are? It is a lot easier if there are a couple people at least in the booth for all time periods and I know when we did one of these in Edmonton (only did once - hard to get enough help to continue and the costs were too high, if I recall) they expected people to take animals to a common area for displays as well, so you need to have some people to go do that and some to stay with the booth.
I don't mean to be discouraging - I think it would be great PR for HISS and the reptile rescue, but just a bit of caution is a good idea - really need to have people to be sure before booking this because it can turn into a lot of work for only a couple people.

I understand not being able to commit so far in advance, and I know that you're not trying to discourage this... I think that this is a great opportunity, but it will be a LOT of work, even just entering into a pre-existing show like this... That's why I want to plan the bug in everyones' ears now, and start getting people to think about when they could work or what else they could contribute - Nice and early, so that there is lots of time - especially time to pull out if things aren't going well!!
