I have always wanted to take a trip to the Badlands and try to locate a few populations of the short horned lizard ( Phrynosoma hernandezi ). I have wanted to see these lizards for awhile. I will count numbers of colonies found where, number of individuals. I will also measure any caught(and released) and what habits they exhibit while I'm observing. If anybody has more info on this please msg me. It might turn out to be a shared interest sun bake.

Wow may aswell update. Herping in SW SK went hot and slow. I brought the wrong people to get anything done and the pics are not very good(useless camera). But If I get time this year I think I will go do it myself, unless joey wants to come:) I will be shooting for May or July and heading out for 5-7 days. I have a trip in June to Washington. The more the merrier, unless you are coming to party in the bush, totaly not what its about.

I have a herp trip to Texas in early July. I'd love to run out and meet you in the badlands though sometime earlier in the year. Spring would probably be more revealing for all herps. Later spring would be hot enough for lizards and still be a grab for the other species perhaps. How about tentatively early June?

That sounds like an idea. I will get some planning done closer to the date.

Well I mean nitrites I just don't post ever about them, and don't bother with thinking about spelling the correct one. I do know about them...however you know alot more and are set in your ways. I know how fish react when there is high nitires. If you have poisinous gas you yourself ...wait maybe you think I'm being nasty. If I was breathing poisinous gas, and was coffing you may look at me and go he is not going blue or turning red so he is ok. In the same way you are talking about later stages and I'm not. The jumpyness of your koi are like a coffing stage.

Just to get this thread back to lizards and away from erroneous koi talk, here's a pic from southern Saskatchewan.
