Anyone else here keep marine fish? We had been looking at starting up a regular fish tank (like a proper aquarium, not the 200 gal plastic tank that the koi are in! ;D )...and we've just decided that we'd like to try a marine tank...
I've joined the Saskatoon aquarium society forum, and the Sask Reef forum, and Reef Central...just to get a good resource base...and really, the whole marine thing isn't as hard as I used to think it was....
Also just found out that there is a marine only fish store in Saskatoon - neato!!
Anyways, love to hear from anyone else with salt water fishies!!

ive keep clown fish and sea anemones. i had a 25 gallon tnk 4sale if u actually dont have a cage readily available. they arent hard to keep but they also arent easy. i had to commonly do water tests and make sure water was stable before adding salt. fish are really cool lookin tho, florida has a good store i went to when i was little. bigbig aquarium with cudas sharks and my favorite a stingray. a suggestion for a fish is a ray, i was gunna get one but being a student didnt help thers one for sale on consignall.ca or was. n e how there cool to me

I don't have a marine tank of my own yet but i remember when my dad used to have them when I was little and i work at a pet store that has a couple marine tanks. Unfortunatly they're downsizing the marine tanks due to cost but I think that marine tanks are definitly a little more visualing appealing than tropicals because of all the bright colors of fish and plant life that you can add. So good luck with starting up your tank.

I have always wanted to start a salt water tank. That Bayside Corals you are talking about is a pretty cool store to walk through. I think the corals are fascinating what would you keep and what size tank.

Yup -it's a great store!! We were looking at starting up with a 33gal tank that we already have - it's a little small for salt, but would be OK...Thinking of fish and live rock - probably not too much coral, if any. I would really like to do captive bred fish only, but that limits our choices quite substantially...
It will likely be a while before we get this up and going though - the equipment costs are pretty substantial, and we just signed up to get another puppy in March, so we have to pay for him and renovate our kennel first thing in the spring...
