Morning All - Is there anyway to tell when a baby beardie is actually full? Argyle's appetite seems to know no bounds. Is it possible to overfeed? (As a side note, I think he's starting to shed - he had wierd things sticking out of his nose when I got up this morning, it turned out to be dried skin. Please tell me that's normal...) Hope to hear from some kind soul soon- Lisa

It doesn;t seem possible to feed baby dragons, but ten cricets per feeding is a preety good place to start. They're growth rate in the first 8 months is insane. About 400% or so. They are usually full grown around 10 to 12 months of age. So when they are little, they consume a lot of food. You can also supplimant their diet with finely chopped veggies and fruit, which will help to off set the cost of crickets. (Well, maybe just a little bit)
It is normal for them to shed what appears to be the inside of their noses. If you want to know something really cool, Bearded Dragons have nasal flaps that they can open and close. I don't really know what they are for, but they close them a night sometimes and when they are in water. Weird . . .
Hope this helps,
Travis

Oh good! I thought if I fed him anymore, he just might explode. That's a lot of food to stuff into such a little body! I have been supplementing with greens. He loves romaine and broccoli - not too keen on red peppers. (Not too many kids are...) He likes the occasional stawberry as well. I think I'll try bananas today. I've been 'spicing' his salad up with a little rep-cal as well, just to make sure he's getting enough calcium. Nose flaps? Cool! (Sometimes I wish I had nose flaps...) In the afternoon, I noticed that he had a little 'soul patch' of skin shedding off too! He's so neat. He actually sat on my chest for a few minutes yesterday without squirming. Of course, my hand was right there to prevent any flying squirrel escape attempts. But, it's progress, nonetheless. Thanks again for your imput - I really appreciate it! Talk to you soon, I'm sure.
