I am wondering how many SK herpers have monitors currently? I have my Albigs 2males. Does anybody else have Albigs? Is anybody breeding monitors this year? What is the smallest monitor any of you have kept? How about the biggest! Have any of you ever built anything ingenious to help care for your monitors?

Well nothing too exciting at my place, just a little pet store rescue Sav. Little guys got old scars all over his body from his prior mistreatment. I am hoping to get into monitors a little more in the next couple of years since I do have the space, haven't really decided what just yet though. Here's Larry the Sav.

All I have right now are Argus Monitors. I had them up for sale a while ago, and may be putting them up again soon. Closing down the zoo building has left me with little room upstairs to build them a cage as big as I would like to give them.
Over the years I have kept water monitors (the largest of which is at the Herpetological Gardens in Maple Creek Saskatchewan), Savanna's, Niles, Blackthroats, Black Roughneck monitors, and maybe a few others that are slipping my mind.
I've never gotten any eggs that I was able to find from the Argus's (2000 lbs of sand might have something to do with this...) but I hope more monitor keepers strive to produce monitors in captivity.
If I do part with the argus monitors, I likely will someday get a dwarf species to keep and try to breed - because monitors are amazing reptiles and I really have a soft spot for them.

Well I have not been on here in awhile. My comp crashed so I had to get a new motherboard. Just an update I only have 1 monitor in the basement. Smoochie is in the freezer waiting to be articulated.

I just lost my favorite reptile, Noodle the mangrove monitor. This would probably be his most famous photograph.
