Just snapped these piks quick as my Miami corn (het amel) mates with a female coastal Cal King(first time breeder-unknown hets).Never an easy process making this happen, at least so far. ;D Time to celebrate...treat myself to a cappuccino ;D

Thanks guys, I love the challenge of making these jungles.I tried this female king the other night , but she turned on one of my corn males and bit him right on the head, then coiled round him.It was alittle tense , but no harm done.At the time of this mating after getting her finally going , she was at the point of flagging , so it was just to get the corn male to go for her...Tricky business. The male king I used to get her excited , I kept close to keep her interested , but I had corn smell all over my hands and arms as well and he bit on to me pretty good thinkin he was gettin himself a corn.I truly believe the price of jungles are well worth it and even could go up . It takes alot of work and patience, and I respect everyone who deals with this.
I also got my amel Sonoran gopher to mate with my snow corn a few days ago, and that was just as time consuming, but I didn't have to worry about them eating each other at least.
My Miami male has bred a few other corns this year as well , but he makes some fine jungles, plus hes usually very eager to breed compared to my other males , which helps make it alittle easier in getting him to take to a Kingsnake.
Yep , nothin comes easy , and persistence and patience eventually pays off...........hope fully all the eggs and babies come out allright(fingers crossed) ;D

Definitely a lot of work - our only experience with jungle corns was breeding our male albino jungle to a female normal jungle - no problems with that pairing - a friend in Edmonton owned the female and kept them together for a week or so - they bred freely, no aggression - definitely the easier way to go. These are the two babies I got back from that breeding male normal - he was sold to a girl in Edmonton last summer female amel - she is a gorgeous little girl - laid 20 eggs last spring without being exposed to a male - haven't made up my mind on what to do with her this year -

Way easier to breed JC to JC thats for sure LOL Every time I tried "making" them I had incidents with CKs trying to kill corns despite various methods & mates tried. Much easier to breed them (JCs) together to make F2's & F3's etc. Mark

Huh .. yep your right Mark , no easy task. One thing I found in my experience is that it is usually a little easier to mate a male corn to a female king.I find that my male king is very aggressive and unpredictable and I would not dare put him in with a female corn, unless I wanted a magor disaster. One year I tried mating a corn to my female cal king and gave up after a while and made the mistake of then putting my male cal king in with her right after.Well you can guess what happened. >:(Forgot what I was doing and wasn't thinkin after a few hours of trying to get her to let a corn go at her . The male king smelt the corns that had been with her and mistook her for a corn and almost killed her .He wrapped her up in seconds and right round the head. She ,being an albino, you could see her face turning red and after getting him off her it took her about 15 horrible seconds to come back to consciousness. It was an exciting day

I thought I'd cheat once & try JC X CK using Lavender CKs, same results as my Corn X CK attempts CKs go from horny to kill seconds after they clue in hey not CK anymore no matter what combos of males/females etc. Its wild how they can turn from horny to mental as soon as the mate is switched. Then ya have a CK thats trying to eat everything that moves including yourself LOL I've had CKs go to constrict their mates right away only to quit right now realizing hey its "funtime" not food time. Nice to see them immediately release & go to foreplay rather than having to intervene. Not fun prying CKs off each other specially when they both bite you as well as each other. Mark P.S. agree on the male Corn thing as they don't even eat around breeding season here & want to hump everything usually

;D Yeah , I hear ya Mark , my males eat sparatically too at this time and even when they take a mouse all of a sudden they will forget about it and take no interest in it after constricting it .Talk about a short attention span.Oh well saves on the food and work load a bit ...for now!!
