Well I'm glad I decided to clean when I did today. Seperating the breeders to be fed later tonight. I will leave my breeders together overnight, even for a day or 2. It has been my experience that if Kings are going to try & kill each other they will do it in the first minute. I have had them together with one mate even overnight & then "flip" mates & have them attack them then, but other than that its always been an instant thing. Well today they tried to prove me wrong & my timing was sure lucky. I just happened to have the camera right there so I snapped a couple quick ones as I honestly thought the one, maybe both were already dead. One actually didn't move for a few seconds & was struggling for breath as well. Fortunately they both appear OK except for some minor wounds. Heres what you DON'T want to see when checking your breeders, they both had each other by the face. Whew lucky Mark members.shaw.ca/gonesnakee/CKS.JPG

huh , close call there Mark , good thing you checked them when you did. I am too paranoid to leave kings together when breeding and if they don't breed within an hour or so after I introduce them , I seperate them and try again later . Great picture though , was it tough seperating them? I know I had a tough time when I was doing a corn X king breeding one time , the king just wouldn't budge and was wrapped so tight round the corn , had to pull out the vinegar.. No damage was done though. Best of luck .

Was actually super easy to seperate them, didn't even try to bite me or each other. The one was basically almost "passed out" & the other doing the most constricting was pretty weak. Must of been a good fight as there was a nice amount of blood that appeared to come from the male where she must have been biting his belly at first. First thing they both did was straight into their hides. I'll definitely be watching them more closely in the future as obviously there are exceptions to everything, its always a possibility when breeding Kings. Mark
