Hey!!! I got a good pik of my Cali Kings in action. The male is a coastal Cal and the female is an albino. The female is actually a T-positive.(not a good pik to really tell , I know)making her a nice lavender color. The male is het for albino so offspring of these two is 50% of them will be albino and the other 50% will look like the male but will be het for albino , meaning they will carry the recessive trait. Tyrosinase is an enzyme required for synthesizing melanin(blacks and browns). An albino that is t-positive is not able to synthesize melanin , but is capable of synthesizing tyrosinase, resulting in a lavender brownish color. On the other end is the tyrosinase-negative which is an albino that has cells which lack tyrosinase, meaning it will be white with yellow or orange colors.(typical amel)
