Time to get the forums going! This is Cleo, my California Kingsnake. I'm assuming she's female, when I bought her the shop owner tried to "evert" her and nothing came out. She's in her "feeding bin". I always feed her in a seperate place, not in her cage, and she has never ever even tried to bite anyone. Here's a cool pic I got of her starting to shed: I look forward to seeing everyone else's photos!

Nice king!!! The one I used to have was just plain nasty but I still like the little devils.

I'm not in practise at sexing kings by looking at their tail, but I wouldn't trust many pet shop owners to accurately evert hemipenes and know the sex of a snake (I got a good story related to this with one petstore owner in the province who didn't know who Walter P. and I were when we took a tour of petstores.....)
If it is important to you to find out, or you are planning to breed kings some day, I'm sure someone on here could probe it for you some time.

Hey . thats a kool snake. On first glance I notice its not a coastal cal king and the dirty wash on the white doesnt make it the best desert phase either.Quite unique, from the pictures it looks like the snake has like a wash of charcoal over it.Maybe its Anerythristic. Anyways , nice snake.!
