My second clutch of the year hatched this week and proved this youngster as ultramel - he was produced by Ruth Hanney. And I got the butters I have been waiting for!! The test breeding here was to my big butter female (bred by Nette) and she produced her typical huge clutch (26 eggs this year) and despite a bit of mold and 3 that failed to hatch - the odds were pretty good out of this group with a golddust first out of the egg followed by a couple amels. Golddusts are ultramels that are homozygous for caramel - sort of the ultra version of an amber (which has the traditional hypo A gene). with ultramel and more golddust noses peeking out the first day - from around a few moldy eggs - and almost everyone (including a few butters - that pale nose peeking out of an egg I finally get my pure butters!!) out by last night some amels with the golddusts ultramel and golddusts ultramel (on bottom) and butter ultramel (on bottom) and golddust amel, butter and golddust Thanks for looking, mary v

Thanks Ian - these little one are eating now and along with the other clutches it is quite a handful.
Miss the Edmonton shows and wish I could get back - will be hitting Red Deer this year and Winnipeg, but not likely back to Edmonton,

I like your babies and your butter female. Do you have any females for sale?

Thanks - the butter female has been a great producer for me over the years.
These little guys will be posted in the classified within the next week or so - will be doing individual pictures tomorrow and will get the ads up shortly after that.
