I finally have some hatchlings - been so jealous of everyone else's hatching corns, but they take their own time to breed and hatch - and these were worth the wait for me. From this creamsicle het caramel female I produced a few years ago bred to this caramel male Not the best breeding pic but they were creative I got my first clutch this year - 28 eggs - hatched a nice mix of creamsicles and rootbeers het for caramel as well as buttercreams and rootbeers that are homozygous caramel - basically a caramel emoryi/corn. some rootbeers and creamsicles rootbeer and caramel rootbeer for comparison - the caramel is facing right with the light yellow background caramel rootbeer and buttercream creamsicle, buttercreams and caramel rootbeer These are a relatively low percentage of emoryi - but I think the influence will be apparent as they mature Thanks for looking mary v.

While it is virtually impossible to distinguish these from the pure corn varieties at this age, but past experience with the caramel gene in creamsicle lines has given me very golden color. The reduced red that the emoryi influence produces, it seems to allow more enhanced yellow - These are some rootbeer het caramel from last year Compared with a caramel pure corn the same age The caramel is facing left, the rootbeer het caramel is on the bottom of the picture Given how great these hets look, I am really looking forward to seeing the homozygous version of caramel in the emoryi corns as they mature, thanks for looking, mary v.
