The forums are slow, it's summer and everyone's outside. But that should mean that this is the one busy section. I lost my camera, or I'd have a bunch of frogs and toads to offer Ian

Awe come on, I've heard Stanley Park has newts, salamanders and giant gartersnakes! My bud in Penticton just found a skink a block from his house the other day. He had no idea they were anywhere in the area and had always wanted to find one But before my mouth runs, I am somewhat of a hippocryte as well, I've been really wanted to find some plains garters this summer and the range is withen an hour of here. Ian ps, hey your in Vancouver, I bet China town is buzz'n

Haven't made it town to Chinatown yet, lol. I've done some searching around my place ( I live on an acreage ) but haven't found anything yet, the girlfriend has found a few frogs while out walking the dogs though.

Garter snakes are easy to find... out in the Endowment Lands/Pacific Spirit park or around the Fraser... you can find 2-3 different species, usually And lots of plethodontid salamanders... maybe not if it's been dry If you can't find the introduced bullfrogs and/or green frogs in most bodies of water around Vancouver, you're pretty blind Ryan.... ditto all the RES that seem to crop up. Last time I was home I think I found over a dozen in False Creek area without intentionally looking.

I actually saw my first garter the other day but unfortunately I was working at the time so no camera or time to investigate.
