I'm tiling in a pond into my future turtle enclosure(they will be rescues). The enclosure is 14" deep 3' long and 4' wide, and half 3x2 feet will soon be water. Has anybody had problems with turtles getting any sores from rubbing against the tiles? I just want to know before I get them cemented in if they will cause problems. The tiles are your average 4x4" bathroom tile. Thanks in advance.

I've never had turts on tiles, but I wouldn't think it would be a problem...I don't know how grout will be in terms of enclosure cleanliness though...Are you planning to seal the grout in any way? I'd also stear clear of silicone if you were planning on much of that - I've had many a turt eat any bits of silicone they can get at.
Post some pics when its done!

My only guess at a problem would be finding enough traction to get out of the water. Not hard to remedy if you think about it though. Ian

I do alot of work with tiles and such for I work for a contractor in the area, and I would definately suggest sealing the tile afterwards especially for long life for the grout.I'm sure if you do some research you can find a sealer that is mean't for very wet or underwater durability. From what I have done sealing in the grout and tiles in my work has to be done evry so often.Sounds like a fun project project and would definately love to see some piks when you have the chance.
