Anyone have a good source for feeder fish in Saskatoon? I can get goldfish/rosies no problem. Petland has feeder guppies, which are far too small (I need med-large goldfish sized fish). They claimed they could order in other feeders for me, but they've only actually managed to do that once and have completely failed to order me whiteclouds or barbs since about October. Soon I can get baitfish, but those die rather quickly in my tank (it's in the mid 80's F) and foul the water. Any suggestions? I'm getting tired of bolusing B vitamins to make up for the thiaminase in the carp.

I have no idea how this would be received, but have you talked to anyone in the aquarium society? They migh have surplus/rejects from breeding projects, or maybe even know of people breeding specifically for feeders...
Just a shot in the dark, but might be worth a try...

Oh - just had another idea...Would baby convict cichlids be of any use to you? Sue, who runs the Nat. Sci. Museum usually has piles of them, so that might be worth checking out too...

I finally spent enough time browsing their boards that I found someone who had convict cichlids he was willing to sell as feeders. I didn't want to just announce I wanted to feed their babies to the snakes because I thought it could go badly... Can I get some contact info for Sue and I'll see if she's interested? Then I can alternate between clutches. I know the aquarium fed theirs a lot of barbs and tetras, so I'd be interested in finding those regularly.
