hello my name is raymond astells,i currently own a borneo short-tailed python(curtus breitensteini) about 4 feet in length,a central american boa constrictor(boa constrictor imperator) which is about 4.5 feet in length ,and a kenyan sand boa(Gongylophis colubrinus) which is about 18inches in length.i have currently owned them for over 5 years and all are very tame and i have never been bitten in my years of owning them.i am moving to estevan saskatchewan from british columbia and was wondering if in any way i could obtain a permit to bring my snakes with me and be able to keep them.i am a very responsible herp owner, and they are in very secure cages(no escapes in the years of owning them).i am only asking this because i have grown very attached to them and they are part of my life, but must relocate to estevan for work.i have no intentions of purchasing any more snakes once relocated to estevan. if in anyway you can help me figure my situation out i would appreciate it very much.
yours sincerly, Raymond astells.

As far as I know you have to be a zoo to get a permit to keep boas and pythons in Saskatchewan.

I have never really looked into it but I would imagine that it would be the fish and wildlife department

Hi I think I can provide a little assistance on this subject! I run a rescue here in Saskatchewan for all reptiles and invertebrates. Now the law states no boas are to be located in Saskatchewan unless you have a permit from the wildlife department (which is near impossible to get as I have been trying for two years now) they are in the middle of changing this law so will not issue any permits out. You must have a zoo permit to keep them currently however they will only give those to people who own them for an educational reason... I also run a reptile show (educational) and they still will not give me one. That being said this law may change and they may be allowed in the next few months so my advise to you would be to see if a friend in box can watch them for a bit and if the law changes you can them keep them however if it does not you may have to find them new homes. I hope this helps any other question please feel free to contact me at wranglerelisa@gmail.com or visit my website at www.wranglerelisa.com (Facebook and twitter linked from there!
