Wow! He is amazing! Where did you get that? Since it is a Hognose does that mean it is rear fanged? Congrats on the great new addition!

I feel pretty lucky to have the opportunity to have him... yes he is rear-fanged, and he was purchased from Kevin and Denise of Urban Squamata in BC... Of all the hoggies available, I believe we Albertans are only permitted the Giant Malagasy and the Spectacled.

I have not verified it as yet, but have been told that we may also have the Malagasy Blonde, and some of the central/south american species. I offered him a small thawed small rat yesterday, and while he hissed at it and pushed it away with his body while I held it in the forceps, he took it and consumed it when I was not watching.

The male CD rat snake does the same thing. The female grabs no problem and can hammer back a couple very quickly. The male however is left with a couple mice and eats while your not watching At least they eat, I don`t mind how they want to do it

Took some pictures of him today, these were the only two that turned out. He kind of wheezed at me, but no real hissing or puffing up. Thanks for looking :>
